My Story
I enlisted right out of high school in 2010, serving in security forces in Washington and as an infantryman in 1/3 in Hawaii. I entered the Marine Corps seeking adventure and quickly realized that I could only accomplish it on my own, so after leaving the Marine Corps in 2015, I trekked the Appalachian Trail and ended up joining a mountaineering program that took me to Spain, Argentina, Alaska, and Australia to train as a mountaineer. After the program, I worked as a whitewater guide in Tennessee eventually moving to Mississippi to rejoin the conventional employment. This was not going to last, so I gave up and hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019.My passions were in the outdoors, so I registered in the outdoor recreational leadership program based in Leadville, Colorado. That's where I met Tony, found HCVA, and signed up as a guide for the winter season.
